Name of Silicon Knights game leaked
Siren in the Maelstrom, apparently.
Silicon Knights' next game may be very well be called "Siren in the Maelstrom", judging by a press release from Canada Telefilm commenting on projects approved for government aid.
In amongst the 56 projects listed on the release (Babelfish translation - thanks vg247/GoNintendo) there lurks everyone's favourite Too Human developer opposite the aforementioned title.
There's been no public response from Silicon Knights or its generally chatty bossman Denis Dyack, who was in Brighton this month for the Develop Conference but declined to be interviewed.
The developer's last game, Too Human, came out around this time last year and picked up middling reviews, despite its rather glorious game-world.

Too human was far from utter shite, but god forbid someone might put out a game that requires you to work at it.
Just how far did you get into it, before you gave up and went of looking for an easy game.
I'm not saying it was a perfect game, but far too many people simply said 'omg, the camera is the hardz, and i dont like the death animation' and tramped of like little kids.
If you worked with game, and learned it in and out, it was a great game. I've yet to see a game that could throw as many enemies at you, and orchestrate a ballet of death like Too Human, with a level 50 character on the final level.
But like i say, too many easy mode kids just couldn't hack it.

The camera and death animations aren't at the top of my complaints though

I was not biased by poor E3 showings or anything like it at all. Quite the contrary, before it's release I didn't have an Xbox 360, so I didn't pay much attention to any game that wouldn't see a Wii release (which I did have). So I didn't get caught up in hype or anything.
Right when it was released though, I bought an XBox 360, was browsing games in a games store, saw the Too Human box, knew it was from Silicon Knights (who I loved for the Legacy of Kain and Eternal Darkness games) and decided to go for it. After all, the stuff I had seen from it looked impressive.
So I think I can quite safely say that I hated the game on it's own merits. Purely from a gameplay and story telling perspective, I formed my opinion that Too Human is a huge disappointment.

Coincidentally, its also my most dissapointing game of the generation. It was all so.....bland, just bland. I didn't find it a challenge at all, just........boring and disappointing.

I LOVED the concept but the execution was horrendous. If you give me the promised sequels, I will still tolerate them for the story at least.
Anyway, as for this new game, here's hoping it's a sequel to Eternal Darkness.

I'm guessing it was you that gave me the negative feedback.
Yes, God forbid I have a different view from you.
No mate, the game was average, utterly average., And every single review and opinion thinks so. I judged the game on it own merits, and I managed to play it whilst my brain was semi-engaged (occasionally reading text messages on my phone whilst not looking).
Just because you disagree doesn't make you right, it just makes you an exception to the rule.

"Everyone in the world agrees with me on this, so you're just wroooong man!"
I like Silicon Knights, so I hope things get back on track for them real soon is all I can say.
