A month ahead of COD: Black Ops.

EA has announced that Medal of Honor will be released on 15th October in Europe.

Last Friday Activision revealed that its new Call of Duty title, Black Ops, would be with us on 9th November.

The new Medal of Honor is a modern reboot for the ageing first-person shooter series, starring Tier 1 Operators in Afghanistan.

The single-player campaign is being developed by EA Los Angeles while Swedish studio DICE is handling multiplayer.

I'll spare us all another retelling of how MW2 is technically an imitation of MOH and instead ponder the need for multiplayer here, given Bad Company 2 has pretty much sewn that up.

Presumably Respawn will have to do something quite different to MoH or CoD now, considering there are already a ton of games population that area.

On the plus side, at least this isn't in a post-apocalyptic setting (not that it's a bad thing!)

If they get the balance right and try not to emulate MW2 it may be good. Same applies to Treyarch. Thought waw mp was good. They should both follow their own instincts.

Agree, BFBC2 hard to beat.

There'd better be dedicated servers for the multiplayer. I'm sick of having to wait to be killed before I'm allowed to fire in COD.

The multiplayer is bound to be good. It's done by DICE, who haven't made a bad game yet. In fact i'm just going to go play some Pinball Fantasies on my Amiga 600.

I've been very, very impressed by Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and DICE is also doing the multiplayer on this. There's no doubt in my mind that this will wipe the floor with Call of Duty.
