Killzone 2 release date "not gospel" News

PlayStation 3 News by Ellie Gibson

27 March, 2008

So much for Sony's assertion yesterday that Killzone 2 will be out in September. It ain't necessarily so, says developer Guerrilla Games.

In a post on the US PlayStation forums, QA manager Seb Downie wrote, "Sorry folks, as before, please take any release dates or months with a grain of salt."

Just to clarify: "If we haven't announced it, it is not gospel."

So there you have it. Killzone 2 might be out in September, like Sony said, but it might not, because that's not something Guerrilla's said. Thanks for that.

if its gonna be full of bugs and lack polish like the 1st game then i rather they not rush it out for release, there's already two 1st person shooter exclusives this year, no need to rush this out at sony's request

When have stated months on release scheduals ever been fixed in stone? I only every expect a game on it's stated date if that date is less then a month away.

"no need to rush" lol; but I suppose this game more than any other fps has a heck of a lot to live up to due the hype of the first being labelled a "halo killer".

It does seem strange that it is so far away from being released, when towards the end of last year guerilla were mooting the possibility of releasing a demo around christmas 07 after the leipzig game convention...

Is Halo the benchmark now though, is that the title to kill? From what I read from quite alot of 360 owners is general disinterest in Halo now, with most players favouring COD4 over it.

I don't see how 3 fps games relates to 3 political/ military leaders. Care to explain?

Shame idiots keep comparing this to Halo. It's a bit like comparing Forza to Burnout. Halo is arcade, Killzone is more realistic in ti's gameplay mechanics. If people are really dying to compare Halo to a PS shooter then pick Resistance.
