Batman: Arkham Asylum demo coming

To PS3 and Xbox 360 this Friday.

A demo for Batman: Arkham Asylum is due to be released this week.

The demo will be available via Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. You'll be able to download it from Friday, before the full game launches on 28th August.

Batman: Arkham Asylum sees our hero taking on The Joker once again. Expect intense combat, pretty visuals and familiar enemies such as Harley Quinn, Bane, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and Scarecrow.

    Good, can't wait to try it out. Will help me decide if I should pre-order the PS3 or 360 version. Any news on a PC demo?

    It's makes a change to see a demo before the game come out,I have high hopes for this one.

    I would love to see the stats on how many pre-orders are created or cancelled off of the back of a game demo being released.

    They really do seem confident about the game, and the people on EG who went to that community preview day most carried praise for it. I'm quite optimistic, and even if I wasn't for all the effort sticking the demo on to download takes, I'll at least extend the courtesy of trying it out. Plus I AM Batman.

    Might get this. The demo will probably help to make that decision. It is not really that high on my list, so it will have to be a good demo.

    I cant remember a recent game that needed a demo more in my mind. There has been such good press around this game, but there has been a delay which is rarely a good sign. Licensed games are almost by definition shit, so a demo will prove whether this game warrants a purchase.

    Assuming this is as good as I hope it's going to be, has anyone got any opinions as to the best place to pre-order? Game has an exclusive Scarecrow level while Play is doing some unlockable armou. There's probably some others too that I've missed. Having a hard time deciding between the two at the moment, do these sort of things usually become available as DLC later on?

    This is fantastic. I'm very excited, and thanks to Eidos for putting this out there so soon.

    Will this be for Gold members only on 360 at first? Might be time to use that month's free Live subscription from GoW2.

    Awesome, been waiting ages to give this a try...

    I'd say that delays aren't always bad things - I'd rather have a game that has had extra attention lavished on it after testing than something rushed. Knights Of The Old Republic 2 springs to mind...

    It looks good I hope... I'd like to know how many Challenge Maps the game will feature - I've already pre-ordered from amazon, but with an exclusive challenge map available from Game I want to know to what degree maintaining my current pre-order will dent the overall level of content.

    After Reading a few of these post the one thing that stands out to me is that if you pre order from X you get some extra content that you don't get if you pre order from Z,It maybe me but if I buy game I want all the content that's been made.

    Thats an age old arguement Nastypasty. You'll probably be able to buy it all as DLC anyway. All this is doing is giving you a reward for being an early adopter.

    EDIT: lol neg rep for speaking the truth. Like it or lump it - this system is here to stay and will become more and more frequent. Next people will be complaining that shops like GAME give people who preorder double points!

    I personally would rather try and beat the system by preordering if im going to buy the game on Day 1, i'd like to know that i've gotten the best deal for it.

    Besides if you wait a a few weeks the price of the game is likely to go down so you can use what you saved to buy the DLC anyway - its all just swings and roundabouts!

    I hope they've sorted out the distracting clipping on the cape. Other than that this looks like a day one purchase to me.

    That would only be comparable if GAME and PLAY created the extra bits currently being offered. Adding exclusive content for each retail shop is taking it a bit far, in my opinion. A free GAME T-Shirt or exclusive PLAY keyring is not the same as a whole new challenge level with a new "exclusive" boss.

    Knowing that the content is there, on your disc, but you can't unlock it because you shopped at the wrong store doesn't feel like much of a reward to me. Not everyone reads these news sites. I bet there's a lot of people pre-ordering that are unaware of the different offers.

    It's the one thing I hate about the ps3, not a trial for each PSN game.

    Pre-ordered it from TheHut at ridiculous price: £25 - 10% off (HUT10) = £22.50
    Worth a shot at this price.
