Borderlands' level increase is free
Separated from Claptrap DLC.
The Borderlands level-cap raise - a feature of the Claptrap's New Robot Revolution DLC - will now arrive as a free update for all game owners.
The new maximum level attainable in Borderlands will be 69, according to Joystiq. The patch will rebalance the original campaign to take into account these extra eight levels.
Add-on Claptrap's New Robot Revolution will be on 28th September, a 2K rep told Eurogamer this morning. When the Game of the Year Edition launches here, however, we still don't know.
Claptrap will cost 800 Microsoft Points or £6.29, and offer a story about a Claptrap revolution filled with missions, enemies and boss battles.
The Game of the Year Edition contains all Borderlands DLC released so far.

Nobody I know owns the game, but I'm still curious, and it's dead cheap.

@ menage
It's nice to have other people about - but they have to be the same level as you to play properly, you will enjoy it solo - after all, that means you get to keep all the loot! The DLC so far is excellent - Dr Ned is incredibly fun, Moxxi is insane madness, currently doing Knoxx and lovin it too!

Totally worth getting it for solo play. I was wondering the same thing, but I'm so glad I eventually picked it up. It's an awesome game and stupidly addictive if you're into levelling and loot-grabbing. I play it solo and it rocks.

I played the whole thing + neds + I'm doing Knoxx solo. I've only played it a little bit in co-op. It's possibly one of the best games I've ever played.

The secret armory of General Knoxx is the best DLC released for any game. Both in terms of quality and value.

Boy, was I wrong. This game is brilliant.
My only gripe, a teeny-weeny small gripe, is that the PS3 online community (so far) appear to be completely silent. No chat, no nothing in co-op, no group camarederie at all. However, I have not let that deter me as I am thoroughly enjoying this game in single player. Graphically stunning, atmospheric, I cannot believe I did not get this game earlier. Brilliant stuff.
So Menage, if you need a reference, get this game!! Oh, and I will be getting the GOTY edition for my 360. I'm practically threatening my mates to buy it.

Yeah, definitely get it. I played through the whole thing single player. One of my GOTY.
Did a bit of co-oping with alt characters but generally found it to be a bit laggy and nowhere near as sharp and fun as it was offline, unfortunately.

What's missing?
I'm interested to know, as I was planning on the GOTY addition being my intro to Borderlands.

As you'd expect, the bundle includes the original game and its four downloadable add-ons - The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, and Claptrap's New Robot Revolution.
The latter has not yet been released, but the previous three were wicked. All hail the mighty Borderlands.
So please read things before making false comments.
