Microsoft has unlocked Xbox Live Gold access for this weekend pretty much everywhere except Europe.

From now until Sunday 2nd December Xbox Live Gold access is free for Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States.

This means gamers in these countries have access to online multiplayer gaming, Internet Explorer, Video Kinect and all the entertainment apps available regardless of subscription.

In response to some complaints from British gamers Xbox mouthpiece Major Nelson pointed out that we enjoyed a UK only weekend recently.

“We alternate what regions are unlocked on a varied basis. It all equalizes out in the end.”
