ToeJam & Earl and its sequel rocket skate onto XBLA and PSN next month

Cheaper than the virtual console versions.

ToeJam and Earl and its sequel ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron are coming to XBLA and PSN on 7th November as part of the Sega Vintage Collection series. The US PSN version will be out the previous day on 6th November.

Each game can be purchased separately on PSN for $4.99 or packaged together as the Sega Vintage Collection for 800 Microsoft Points on XBLA.

1992's ToeJam & Earl was a top-down roguelike that Christian Donlan once called "a mixture of Kid 'n' Play, Bill & Ted, and The Simpsons" in his retrospective.

ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron was its 1993 platformer sequel. Dan Whitehead gave the virtual console port a 6/10 in his virtual console roundup where he wrote, "If you're the sort of player who can forgive rough edges in pursuit of mild innovation then give it a try."

It's also worth noting that the virtual console port was 800 Wii points, which is like 640 MS Points i.e. nearly the price of both of these new rereleases combined.
