THQ announces WWE WrestleFest

Arcade grappler for iOS, Android, PC and consoles.

Classic coin-op grappler WWE WrestleFest has been given a fresh lick of paint by publisher THQ.

A remake of the 1991 2D WWF WrestleFest arcader slams into the App Store today, priced at £1.99 (standard) or £2.49 (HD). It's got new visuals, a contemporary fighter roster, multiplayer, downloadable content and Road to WrestleMania progression play.

The game will also land on Android, PC, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade later this year, though THQ didn't offer a firm date.

"WWE WrestleFest greatly complements our WWE videogames portfolio by delivering a unique and captivating way for fans to connect with the virtual WWE experience," commented THQ games boss Danny Bilson.

"The game's arcade-style play, combined with present day WWE content and hints of nostalgia, is a perfect fit for handheld platforms like the iPhone and iPad."
