ORIGINAL STORY: Remember 90s space combat Star Wars games X-Wing and Tie Fighter? They're re-releasing on PC.

A post on GOG.com published prematurely (but spotted by the GOG.com community), revealed a partnership with Disney to bring over 20 classic LucasArts games to the platform DRM-free.

Six of them release today, 28th October. Currently dead links reveal The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: X-Wing Special Edition, Star Wars: Tie Fighter Special Edition, Sam & Max Hit The Road and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.

On GOG.com a countdown timer expires at 2pm UK time, which is when we expect the games to go on sale.

Paul Dean revisited Star Wars: X-Wing, first released in 1993, in a retrospective published in 2012. "X-Wing was much more than just cool," he wrote. "It was quick, sleek, deadly and impossibly exciting. It was the embodiment of Star Wars, everything that the original trilogy stood for, distilled and bottled and presented to you as an elixir of pure excitement."

Star Wars: Tie-Fighter followed a year later, in 1994, and brought with it improved visuals.
