Sony delays PlayStation 4 launch in China
Due to "various factors".
Sony has postponed the Chinese launch of PlayStation 4 just days before its intended 11th January release date.
The company blamed "various factors" for the hold-up, according to a Reuters report.
A new release date has not yet been set.
There's no word on if the delay also affects PlayStation Vita, which was set to arrive in China on the same date.
The PS4 was due to cost ¥2899 yuan (about £300), while the Vita was announced to cost ¥1299 (about £135).
China lifted a long-running ban on game consoles exactly a year ago, and both Sony and Microsoft have been working to release their machines there ever since.
Xbox One suffered its own delay when launching in China last September.
No official reason was given at the time, but the hold-up was thought to be due to the Chinese government's strict approval process for games released in the country.
