Sony confirms Vita has 512MB of RAM

Reports it had been halved were erroneous.

Sony has finally confirmed that it hasn't halved the PlayStation Vita's RAM.

As reported by 1UP, a spec sheet that went out today detailing the handheld's social networking support also offered up a few technical specs, including confirmation that the system has 512MB of RAM and 128MB of dedicated VRAM.

Earlier this year, reports circulated that Sony had decided to cut the RAM back to 256MB in an effort to keep manufacturing costs down so it could better compete with the 3DS.

Sony's whizzbang portable is due to launch on these shores in early 2012 for €249.99.
