Super Nintendo games are finally coming to the 3DS' Virtual Console, with Earthbound and Super Mario World available from tonight on the eShop.

There's a catch, though - only the most recent iteration of the hardware, the new 3DS, will support the games. Also, they don't support Cross-Buy with their Wii U counterparts, so if you already own these games on there you'll still have to buy them again should you wish to play them on the go.

Earthbound and Super Mario World are only the start - next week Link to the Past and Super Metroid are coming, followed by F-Zero and Super Mario Kart and finally the first two Donkey Kong Country games.
