SEGA has announced it will be bringing arcade fighting game Bleach to Wii and DS in early 2008.

The two games are based on the popular Japanese animated series of the same name, which is due to air across Europe later this year. The story revolves around Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager who can see dead people. One day he has a chance encounter with a Soul Reaper - beings tasked with defending humans from nasty Hollows - and finds himself granted supernatural powers.

You join him as he uncovers a whole new world and battles increasingly nasty Hollows. A perfect foundation for a fighting game, you might say.

The Wii version is called Bleach: Shattered Blade and lets you wave your arms around to pull-off special attacks either against the computer or in local multiplayer battles. It will come with a unique story and a batch of 32 characters to unlock along the way.

Bleach: The Blade of Fate is the DS version, which will have nifty battling on both screens from a selection of 28 fighters. It will also have a Spirit Card Deck feature you can build up and access to perform strategical special moves, like healing yourself or disarming your friends. Wi-Fi multiplayer is in, too.
