Konami's having another bash at the SAW licence with SAW 2, which will be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 this autumn.

The game's in development at Zombie Studios, maker of the first instalment.

The release has been picked to coincide with the big-screen arrival of SAW VII, which opens this October in the US.

The SAW 2 videogame's plot sits between the second and third SAW films. If you've never seen them, they're about a strange man who traps people in hideous torture/murder equipment and sets them gruesome challenges to see if they can do what it takes to escape before time runs out.

You're role will be as Michael Tapp, Detective Tapp's estranged son, and you'll be investigating the strange death of your father. Sooner or later you realise that Jigsaw is behind daddy's demise, and the set about trying for revenge.

There's more blood, more gore and hopefully more game - see our full analysis of SAW for more.
