Microsoft has dressed up like Captain Planet and asked you of the student world to dream up a sustainable environment without hairspray and open fridges.

It is all part of the Imagine Cup competition, which this year - its sixth in existence - is focused around saving Polar bears and forests and things.

Your opportunity is to compete in one of nine different categories and theoretically save the world, winning prizes ranging from work experience at Microsoft Games Studio to HD video cameras with all the trimmings.

The nine options are: Software Design, Game Development, Embedded Development, IT Challenge, Project Hoshimi, Algorithm, Interface Design, Short Film and Photography.

World finals will take place in Paris next July, and you can register to get involved over on the Imagine Cup website.
