Red Dead Redemption 2 app lets you put the game HUD on your phone rather than your telly

Wild.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is getting a companion app - remember those? - for your smartphone or tablet, Rockstar has detailed.

It acts as a map and diary for your character, but also lets you view the HUD on your phone rather than on your telly - useful for decluttering your big screen.

Red Dead Redemption 2 looks like it'll be a beautiful game - horse balls and all - so the option to remove the mini-map, plus health, stealth and other gauges is a welcome one.

The app will be available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices this Friday, 26th October when Red Dead Redemption 2 launches. If you can't wait until then to see how big the game's world is, Red Dead Redemption 2's full map leaked online yesterday.
