The internet may have unearthed the first pictures of a new Shin Megami Tensei role-playing game. This could be the PS3 instalment Atlus talked of back in 2005.
The evidence comes from the official Atlus website, where a background image is masked by a moving grid. Fortunately, however, NeoGAF members have dispensed of the censor and replicated the full picture.
The picture is taken from space and shows a planet that looks not unlike our own. The big difference is a gigantic hole across the south pole. The eagle-eyed among you have also noticed the title Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey 10/08 sign, (recorded by IGN) which was later removed.
Shin Megami Tensei has yet to appear on PlayStation 3, having been largely restricted to PlayStation 2.
