Sony and Time Warner have struck a deal to offer HBO television content to PlayStation 3 owners in the US.

They will be invited to pay a "premium price" for episodes picked from a range of 11 popular series, according to Nasdaq (via Kotaku).

Episodes will be available on PS3 roughly 11 months after they air on the HBO network. This will coincide with DVD releases.

Typically, PS3 episodes will cost $1 a piece. However, new HBO series True Blood will cost $3 an instalment.

Named HBO content includes Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage and Big Love.
