PS Plus users get free Spyro download
More freebies incoming too.Sony is offering loyal US PlayStation Plus users a selection of festive freebies, including PSone platforming relic Spyro the Dragon.
According to the PlayStation Blog, Insomniac's fondly-remembered 1998 effort will be available for free download from the 4th January 2011.
You'll also be able to pick up Lead & Gold: Gangs of the Wild West free of charge. The Wild West team shooter is no classic, but at £0.00 you might be willing to forgive the "lag issues and a worrying lack of online matches to choose from."
PlayStation Plus users will also get a two week headstart on Pipe Madness, a new free minis title from the studio behind Landit Bandit.
Finally, there are a handful of price cuts coming your way too. MX vs. ATV Reflex PSP will have its asking price slashed by 50 per cent, while Tom Clancy: H.A.W.X. 2 All In One DLC Pack gets a 25 per cent reduction.
Sony hasn't confirmed yet whether the offers will cross the Atlantic in any form.
