Potter spells chart success

Darkness shadowing it.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix magicked its way to the top of the UK all-formats charts this week, as the top forty was shaken up by a batch of high-profile new releases.

Adult thriller The Darkness made a strong impact at number two, fending off Ogreish ambitions from Shrek The Third at, er, three.

Resident Evil 4 re-entered the charts at four - thanks to the release of the Wii Edition, and Nintendo also claimed fifth with DS sequel More Brain Training From Dr. Kawashima.

Last week's number one, Forza Motorsport 2, was pushed down to number six, while Rainbow Six Vegas climbed back into seventh courtesy of the recent PlayStation 3 release.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End sunk down to eighth, as did Take 2's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer down to ninth, followed sportingly by Wii Play in tenth.

Other new releases in the top forty this week include Overlord at 13, Hour of Victory at 23, Call of Juarez at 26 and Tenchu Z at 31.

And that's all the weather.
