Phantasy Star heading to PSP

2008 in Japan.

SEGA is working on a Phantasy Star game for PlayStation Portable called Phantasy Star Portable, due out in 2008.

That's according to a report in the latest issue of Famitsu (picked up on by 1UP).

The game is being developed by Tales of the World developer Alfa System, and is described as "essentially a PSP version of Phantasy Star Universe, including expansion pack Ambition of the Illuminus" by those who've seen the story.

There will be new original stories too, apparently, and a four-player co-operative mode via ad-hoc wireless networking, although online multiplayer is not said to be planned.
