Orange Box gets bonus song

For some reason.

Valve has announced that The Orange Box will come with another surprise goodie - a music single from a chap called Jonathan Coulton.

Described as a computer programmer "turned modern day rock star", Coulton produced a song co-authored by Valve folks and fans who specifically solicited him to do one.

"I am delighted the Valve design team selected me to help make the surprise single a success," Coulton said. "If it's not every geek's dream to be immortalised in a video game, it was mine."

No idea who he is? Well, he's got a blog, so you can find out, and he also releases his music for free under Creative Commons, so you can try that out too.

And if that's not enough to keep you busy for five minutes on a Friday morning, why not check out some of our Orange Box coverage? It's due out on Steam from 10th October, and at retail for PC and 360 on 12th October.
