Eurogamer loves One Life Left. One Life Left loves Eurogamer. Sometimes we do internet scissors. Tonight is one such occasion. Here is an explanation from the fingers of Simon Byron, one of The Three:
A blustery city. A curry house. A bed. And three intrepid radio presenters. Only in Nottingham could so many disparate nouns collide for one unforgettable evening.
Literally. Because it's Nottingham GameCity Three, and tonight - for one night only - twice award-losing radio show One Life Left will be broadcasting live from a curry house. In a bed. From a curry house.
In what's being marketed to the attendees of the awesome Nottingham GameCity Three as "In Bed With One Life Left", regulars Ste Curran, Simon Byron and Ann Scantlebury will be joined by over 100 videogame-fanatics-cum-curry-lovers for a night's worth of videogame chat, copied-from-Eurogamer news, and some hastily-imagined features which may or may not include some of the following:
- A live performance from the show's resident poet Craig 'The Rage' McClellan. Bothering David Braben
- Setting and/or breaking various actual videogame Guinness World Records
- Bands! Live!
- Audience participation
- Slander or libel, we can't remember which
- A genuine, actual contest of strength between a developer and a member of the OLL "massive"
- Other things
It'll be brilliant or rubbish, one of the two. But totally unforgettable. Tickets for this evening have probably sold out, but if you are in the area and fancy haggling with touts, head down to:
7 Goldsmith Street
We will do our best to get you in. The "fun" starts at 7pm, with the show kicking off at 8pm.
Bu if you're sat there staring at the internet and lamenting the fact your staring at the internet rather than OLL's three gorgeous hosts: fear not! Thanks to One Life Left's "best friends with Eurogamer" status - and the fact the Eurogamer regulars can't be arsed to do their own radio show - "In Bed With One Life Left" will be streamed live using this fancy link from 8pm until whenever it finishes.
(Though those who switch on early may be treated to the show's infamous pre-amble, which'll probably kick off from around 7.15pm. Ish.)
We've got the Internet, so please do feel free to contact the show by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Tells us how we're doing. Tell us what you're doing. We could do with the content, frankly.
And if you're really bored, email things we can do in a bed in a curry house. To Ann.
