Observer developer shows The Medium's dual-reality gameplay

Layers of hell.

Psychological horror The Medium was showcased in tonight's Xbox event with a new trailer that debuted its "dual-reality" gameplay.

The idea is that you control two versions of main character Marianne - one in each of the physical and spiritual worlds - via the same analogue stick controls.

Each version of Marianne has different abilities, such as the spirit world's ability for astral projection, but its the immediate visual transition between the two which stands out.

The Medium is developed by Blair Witch, Observer and Layers of Fear developer Bloober Team and is set to launch for Xbox Series X and PC this Christmas.
