Nintendo eShop update - 01/09/11

1950s Lawn Mower Kids!

Nintendo has updated the eShop this week with a solitary slice of DSiWare: 1950s Lawn Mower Kids.

The meat of today's update is taken up by Nintendo's offer of 10 free NES titles - available to 3DS Ambassadors only.

How do you get your 3DS Ambassador games? Eurogamer has the how-to guide.

1950s Lawn Mower Kids is priced at £4.50/€5, or 500 DSi Points.

The game pits you against the manicured lawns of repressed 1950s suburban America. Is cutting the grass a metaphor for uncovering the deep social divisions and cultural problems lying beneath that decade's thin veneer of respectability? You could pretend it is if you want.

In actuality, players must keep track of multiple kid-powered mowers while avoiding priceless plants and household pets. Footage from the already-available iPhone version lies below.
