EA has released a content filled patch for Battlefield 1942, bringing the game up to version 1.5. As well as a new Pacific map, Invasion of the Philippines, the patch brings two new vehicles: the Marines' Elco 80 PT Boat and the Japanese Type 38 coastal craft, both of which sport torpedoes, machine guns and sea mines.

Additionally, US troops will now have a Marines skin on Pacific-based maps, the Marines Engineer is equipped with an M1 Garand, the Japanese Engineer has a Type 5 semi-automatic rifle, and Japanese forces get Black Medal Scout Car and Ho Ha APC replacements for the Kubelwagen and Hanomag vehicles.

Finally, the patch clears up CD swapping issues introduced with 1.45, a lag issue that has something to do with vehicle ladders and an ammobox exploit on Omaha Beach. The upgrade from version 1.45 weighs in at 46MB, while the full update sits at a sizeable 144MB.
