Revenge of the Sith darkens handhelds

Ubisoft jumps on the final Star Wars bandwagon.

Ubisoft has confirmed plans to publish Revenge of the Sith for PSP, DS and GBA SP next spring. Xbox and PS2 versions are also in the works, with the last prequel Star Wars film launching on May 19, 2005.

All handheld titles will be developed by Ubisoft Montreal. The publisher has promised that all will be different and will play on the strengths of the respective hardware. Little has been given away regarding the games - as is always wont with Star Wars movies tie-ins - but they will apparently allow control of multiple characters.

Revenge of the Sith deals with the final stages of Anakin Skywalker's transition to the Dark Side, and will certainly be one of the movie events of next year.

We'll have more on the games soon.
