Dennis Publishing's Golden Joysticks videogame awards are set to be broadcast to an audience of up to eight million viewers on music TV channel MTV, thanks to a new sponsorship deal with the channel.

The awards will be televised in a special edition of the Screenplay programme, which will be broadcast on December 5th in the prime time slot of 5.30pm (and repeated on the 6th, 7th and 8th).

As ever, the majority of the awards will be voted for by the gaming public through the official website, www.goldenjoystick.com, and this year a special award will be voted for by the MTV audience - with Screenplay viewers encouraged to vote for the Best Film Adaptation award.

"MTV, and Screenplay in particular, aims squarely at young mass-market gamers," explained Tara Leathers, games division publisher at Dennis Publishing. "By joining forces with them we will expose the Golden Joysticks to millions more gaming consumers. MTV’s reach will help to cement the Golden Joysticks as the most sought-after awards in the UK games business."

This years Golden Joystick awards will be handed out at a ceremony in the Park Lane Hotel, London, on November 28th. Tickets are available for the ceremony now, with prices starting from £79.
