Burnout for PlayStation Portable?

Criterion apparently says "Yes".

Criterion has reportedly confirmed that Burnout is in development for the PlayStation Portable. In a report on US website GameSpot, a senior design is quoted saying "Yes, we are going to do it," although the UK-based developer has so far made no follow-up comment.

However, rumours of Burnout's development for PSP have been circulating for some time, albeit unsubstantiated, and given the power of the console, the universal appeal of Burnout amongst the PSP's more mature demographic and Sony's apparent keenness to bring proven franchises to the handheld, it seems like a good fit.

Apart from a possible Burnout for PSP, Criterion is definitely still working on Burnout 3: Takedown for PlayStation 2nad Xbox. Although no firm date has been set for the Electronic Arts-published console sequel's arrival, early impressions suggest it's going to be every bit as addictive as its predecessor - with online play a major draw.

Expect to hear clarification of the Burnout/PSP scenario in the near future.
