Namco Japan has unveiled the sixth instalment in arcade flyer series Ace Combat.

Titled Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War, it's set ten years before the previous game and explains the beginnings of the Great War of 1995 - which ended with the defeat of fictional country Belka. Belka, you may recall, was to blame for the war that kicked off in Ace Combat 5: Squadron Leader (read our review for more details).

Expect lots of lovingly rendered planes based on aircraft from the 1990s, including the FA-18 Hornet and F-15 Eagle - used by the US air force in real life. A new trailer is available on the game's official website.

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War is due out next year.
