Ubisoft has released a new trailer of Crytek's gorgeous looking shooter Far Cry. Clearly intended to show off the game's physics engine (hence the filename), the video shows off various combat scenarios with combatants interacting with the environment by shooting barrels, scenery and inevitably each other.

There's also heavy use of vehicles, including helicopters, a hang glider, boats, dinghies and a jeep all bobbing about the thick jungle environment looking and moving really quite convincingly indeed. One scene that really knocked us back (which we won't completely spoil for you) was an incredible leap of faith by one jeep driver to what must have been an incredibly satisfying conclusion. Then they go and spoil it all by having some great big mutant chap lumbering towards the camera at the end. Ah well.

You can pick up the 38MB, two minute trailer directly from Ubisoft's FTP server right here. The game is due out on the PC in the first quarter of 2004.
