VU Games still publishing Hunters

Interplay lawsuit? Doesn't affect me.

Vivendi-Universal Games will publish Hunter: The Reckoning sequels Wayward and Redeemer this year as planned, and continue to sell Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, despite ongoing legal hostilities between Interplay and the embattled French publisher. Hunter: The Reckoning Wayward (PS2) will be released on October 17th, and Hunter: The Reckoning Redeemer (Xbox) will appear sometime in November.

According to VU Games, the termination of its North American distribution agreement with Interplay has no bearing on its Hunter releases, as it now has its own deal with trademark owners White Wolf Publishing and game developer High Voltage Software.

Meanwhile, according to reports from French newspaper Les Echos and the Agence France-Presse (AFP), parent company Vivendi has refused an offer of between 700 and 900 million dollars in cash for the publisher from a "company in the games sector, allied with a financial investor".

Apparently the publisher's shares are up. Hunter fans, obviously.
