Sam & Max come out of retirement

You crack me up, li'l buddy.

We reported on this some time back, but LucasArts has reminded us all that Sam & Max, the intrepid dog and rabbit detective duo, are to make a return next Spring in Sam & Max Freelance Police. The press release says the game is "a whimsical miasma of fur-flying action" and contains "unnerving cross-species jocularity" - how could we keep phraseology like that out of the public eye?

The LucasArts site contains a short trailer and a couple of screenshots that seem to initially indicate that LucasArts haven't brutally demoralised this well-loved license in the same way that they seem keen to apparently wholeheartedly trash Full Throttle's 3D incarnation.
