Nintendo has issued US retailers with artwork showing off a Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition disc for the Cube, perhaps to be bundled with new consoles or with The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords. There's no word on that (or confirmation of a European release), but it looks like a big treat for Zelda fans.

According to reports, the disc will feature The Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, both N64 adventures - Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask - and a demo of the GameCube's Wind Waker escapade.

Nintendo has been quite big on these bonus discs lately, compiling a five-demo disc for distribution with Mario Kart: Double Dash in November (though a pre-order incentive, apparently the disc will only be available when the game is released), whilst those pre-ordering the follow-up to the Cube's biggest launch title, Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike, were rewarded with a disc containing demos and a copy of the original Star Wars arcade game.

But it was Zelda that started it all, with the bonus disc comprising Ocarina of Time, The Master Levels and various preview movies driving one of the biggest pre-orgies in the history of the medium.

Still, we'd prefer a monthly Nintendo rag with a regular demo disc containing these sorts of bonuses strapped to the front. Wouldn't you?
