A new mech game which will let you use the DS's stylus to directly control your machines on the battlefield is on the way from developer Sandlot.

According to an article in Famitsu, partially translated by IGN, Chousouju Mecha MG sees you playing as Martin, a 13 year old boy whose dearest wish is to become a Marionetion Gear (MG, do you see?) operator.

Wouldn't you know it, Martin's home town finds itself under attack from a giant robot called Automan, who's controlled by a group of MG operators gone bad, and it's up to him to save the day. Martin manages to defeat Automan - and everyone's so impressed that he gets given the chance to face off with the rival operators in a full scale battle.

There's a variety of missions to complete - some will task you with taking out enemy robots, while others will see you trying to win races. There will be at least 100 MGs to muck about with, and they can all transform from vehicles to robots (in disguise).

The stylus will be used to activate mech cockpit controls - each set is different, and will there will be a wide range of weapons. For example, you might need to use the stylus to load a gun before you can fire it off.

They haven't even announced a release date for Japan, so there's no point getting all excited if you live in Europe just yet.
