RoboCop in Codename Panzers 2

Part man, part machine, all cop to voice lead character in new WWII real-time strategy effort.

CDV Software has unveiled more details of forthcoming WWII real-time strategy title Codename: Panzers, Phase Two, including news that Peter Weller has signed up for voice acting duties. You can see some screenshots for the game here.

Weller is best known for his title role in RoboCop, and other film credits include Naked Lunch and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. He'll play Jeffrey S. Wilson - "the game's cigar-smoking, butt-kicking, turpentine-drinking American hero."

The script is penned by Hollywood writers David Freeman and Joe Reinkemever, who also worked on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Full Monty and Law & Order, and award-winning artist Dru Blair - best known for his paintings of military aircraft and several Star Trek book covers - will design the box art.

Panzers 2 features all-new campaigns, characters, battlefield environments and more than 20 new combat units, along with hundreds of fully destructible objects. You can play as the Allies, Axis or Yugoslavian resistance in online and offline competitive and co-operative modes, and there's a mission editor for creating missions, maps, units and cut-scenes.

You can find teaser trailers, developer interviews and more on the game's official website.
