X2 nearing launch
It's gold, but is it elite?

Deep Silver, formerly Koch Media's European publishing arm, has announced that German developer Egosoft has completed work on X2: The Threat and has certified it gold in preparation for its release date of February 6th.
With review code winging its way to us as you read this, you can expect to see what we think of the finished article in the near future. Certainly if Rob's first impressions of the game when he saw it back in September are anything to go by, this is definitely one to watch. Then again, with the game often uttered in the same breath as both Freelancer and, whisper it, Elite, we probably didn't need to tell you that.
