MS ducks Next Xbox queries

Microsoft has distanced itself from rumours that a game for the next next next next next generation of Xbox is already being worked on.

It was answering speculation that erupted from the pages of EGM magazine, claiming an insider at the platform holder had leaked the news like a child scared of the toilet.

The unspoken word naturally points to development on the next Xbox being well under way, far enough at least for software to be created.

However, it goes against suggestions that the 360 will last much longer than the original Xbox, an opinion voiced recently by Microsoft suit Mindy Mount.

Elsewhere the PS2 continues its transformation into ageless tennis robot Martina Navaratilova.
