More Rolando activity in 2009

Plus, demo "coming very soon".

Rolando developer Simon Oliver has hinted that we will see more of the cute little rolling-blobs platform-puzzler in 2009.

Meanwhile, ngmoco's Neil Young has updated his Twitter to say that a Lite - i.e. demo - version of the 8/10-scoring iPhone game is "coming very soon".

Speaking to PocketGamer.biz, Oliver, of developer HandCircus, was coy about details on new Rolando but the sentiment was clear.

"I can't say too much about this now, but you'll see some more activity on the Rolando front in 2009," he said, "and I've got a couple of new game ideas bubbling away at concept stage right now. I look forward to sharing them with you later on in the year!"

Rolando, which recently cut its price to GBP 3.49, is a side-scrolling, tilt-controlled puzzle game where players manoeuvre blobs to a goal past various obstacles and traps.

As well as an excellent command of the iPhone's graphics and sound hardware, the game is unusually conscious of the system's control limitations, and the production values and depth are much greater than many of its contemporaries.

If GBP 3.49 still sounds like a lot, we'll let you know when that demo swings around.
