Modder takes control of Mortal Kombat 11's camera to peek behind the curtain

Toilet break.

A modder has taken control of Mortal Kombat 11's camera to peek behind its virtual curtain.

YouTuber DennisNetwork began by uploading a series of videos that reveal the innards of some of Mortal Kombat 11's stages.

In the video below we see the audience in the Tournament stage - and learn they have no legs. We also get up close with the arcade cabinets to see footage of the various Mortal Kombat games that normally plays out in the background in much greater detail.

In the next video we see Shang Tsung's Island Ruins in its entirety. Of note: a vulture circles the action, no doubt waiting for a fresh corpse to chew over.

Next up we have the Black Dragon Fight Club. With the unlocked camera, we go behind the cage, past Kano himself and have a gander at the alcohol behind the bar - there's a lot of Big G, Little B and Capital Bob to sink. Brilliantly, right at the back, past the watching crowd is a Black Dragons gang member who's going for a wee in a urinal. And no, he doesn't have his junk out. It turns out he's holding thin air.

The final stage video is of the Cyber Lin Kuei Assembly. Here we see the various cyborg parts carried in and out from nowhere. We also get a closer look at a corpse being chewed up by a saw before its brain and spinal cord is extracted for implantation in a cyborg shell. Yum.

The corpse is then unceremoniously dumped down a garbage chute - what actually happens is the corpse falls under the stage and into the void, where it freezes in an odd pose for a couple of seconds before disappearing.

And finally, DennisNetwork's video showing all the Fatal Blows from the classic side angle, which is illuminating. It's fascinating to see how the action is manipulated to offer a cinematic experience during these flashy high-damage, multi-hit super combos. (Cowboy bounty hunter Erron Black is clearly using an aim-bot for the final off-the-coins hit of his Fatal Blow!)

There's a lot more I'd like to see of Mortal Kombat 11 with a free camera - particularly in the Krypt. DennisNetwork said they're still working on the mod, but it will be released to the public eventually.
