Microsoft launches free, eight-player Xbox One curio Voice Commander

Speak for yourself.

Xbox One owners can now download a free eight-player real-time strategy game named Voice Commander.

The retro-styled space shooter has been developed by Microsoft Garage, a loose group of interns and employees at the company.

Up to eight people can use controllers to join in the game, and more can interact with it using voice commands.

What looks like the Earth lies in the centre of the screen, surrounded by a number of enemy and friendly ships.

Voice Commander has only officially been launched in North America so far, but European owners can easily access it via a quick switch of their console's region.

Changing your Xbox One's region, downloading the game, then changing it back is as difficult as altering an option in your Settings app and rebooting your console.
