Lords of the Fallen - Beast, Faith stat, Higher Fire Rune, Faithful Disciple

If you're struggling to finish the fight, we'll show you how to make mincemeat out of the Beast in Lords of the Fallen without taking a scratch.

Your next boss fights is one of the most interesting in the game, as you're encouraged to fight at a distance instead of getting stuck in up-close. Make sure you've got light armour on, so you can zip about the arena more easily, and use your Gauntlet to deliver the bulk of your damage. You'll benefit from having a reasonably high Faith stat in this encounter, as well as a Higher Fire Rune on your Gauntlet, and the Faithful Disciple trinket equipped.

Killing the Beast

Keep an eye on the bar beneath the Beast's health bar - this represents the creature's Fatigue level. This bar gets bigger as the enemy takes damage, and when it fills up completely the beast will collapse, giving you a great opportunity to rush in and give the Beast a good beating. You should certainly have enough time to deplete your entire stamina bar during this phase.

As long as you're fighting from range, make sure that you still remain close enough for the Beast to prime its two-hit combo attack. Let the enemy swing left then right, then shoot it with your Gauntlet for an almost guaranteed strike.

Every now and then the Beast will use a vertical swipe. Dodge left or right if you're caught up in it, and stay away from the damage line that rushes across the floor. The enemy will also put poisonous puddles on the ground from time to time. Just keep moving to avoid this damage - the puddles will disappear after a while.

If you're determined to fight in melee range of the Beast, it's a much tougher fight. As well as the two-hit combo and the vertical slice, you'll also have to deal with a stomping attack. You must back up quickly if this occurs, otherwise you risk taking significant damage.

Our advice? Stick to the Gauntlet. It's a slower, but much more reliable method of taking down this monster. Only get close when you have a decent amount of energy at hand, and when the boss has knackered itself out.

When the creature's dead, take the weapons and the Sealed Rune (Big), then talk to the soldier nearby. Now make your way back to the Citadel through the big doors, then go down the stairs and head through the door to The Chamber of Lies and to make use of the Small Western Antechamber Key.
