Knockout City launches straight into Xbox Game Pass and EA Play, EA has announced.

Velen Studios' upcoming team-based dodgebrawl title will be free for all EA Play members when it comes out on 21st May.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass for PC members also have access to the full game through their access to EA Play.

At launch, all EA Play members across all platforms have unlimited access to the full game, and they also get an exclusive outfit.

Knockout City comes out 21st May on PC via Origin, Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S via backwards compatibility.

The game supports full cross-play and cross-progression. There's also a free trial available at launch, which will run for a limited time.

Meanwhile, Microsoft announced Dragon Quest Builders 2 is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S via backwards compatibility, and PC and Xbox Game Pass (console, cloud, and PC) on 4th May. As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, you can play Dragon Quest Builders 2 on Xbox and PC with shared saved progress and achievements.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is the block-building RPG from Dragon Quest series creators Yuji Horii, character designer Akira Toriyama, and composer Koichi Sugiyama.

Martin reviewed Dragon Quest Builders 2 in 2019, awarding it a recommended badge. "The Minecraft and Dragon Quest mash-up gets refined for the sequel, with a few other outside influences helping make it a laid-back joy," he wrote.
