King of Kong snatches back DK crown

Steve Wiebe breaks record again.

King of Kong hero Steve Wiebe has regained his Donkey Kong high score record from international hot- sauce magnate and pantomime villain Billy Mitchell.

The titanic struggle between the forces of good and evil masquerading as the ding-dong battle for the Donkey Kong arcade record has swung back in Wiebe's favour, with the Seattle resident clocking up a score of 1,064,500.

Mitchell had taken the record from plastic surgeon Hank Chien back in July but Wiebe set a new best on Monday, according to official score keeper Twin Galaxies.

Both Mitchell and Wiebe starred in the brilliant 2007 documentary King of Kong, which followed Wiebe as he attempted to knock the long-time Donkey Kong champ off his pedestal.
