Itagaki to unveil new game at E3

"Complacency is never an option for me."

Legendary game designer Tomonobu Itagaki has revealed he will announce his new offering at E3 next week.

"This year, at the E3 show, we have decided to go public with the latest game we are working on right now at Valhalla Studios," he wrote on the company's website.

"Our motivation was always to come up with a project from scratch, to gather together and work together as comrades, and to create something that all of you gamers can enjoy. It was for this simple goal that we decided to go independent."

Itagaki went on to observe he has previously created four unique games - Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden, DOA Xtreme and NG Dragon Sword.

"This announcement will be the fifth all-new project in my lifetime," he wrote. "I don't know if that number is large or small, but I know as a fact that everyone of these announcements was a presentation of a new gaming paradigm from me to all of you. This time, it is no different.

"My heart pounds with anticipation every time I make these announcements," Itagaki went on. "It's not something one can get used to - complacency is never an option for me."

Roll on E3, then. It's taking place in LA from 15th - 17th June, and Eurogamer will be there, bringing you all the news as it happens, and some videos and previews and things.
