HD-DVD gets Euro price cut

The mysterious suits behind the HD-DVD format have named the Xbox 360 add-on as one of a handful of players that will experience a slight dip in price throughout mainland Europe.

The news spilled from the IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) consumer electronics fair in Germany, where the new price was announced at EUR 179 - a 20 Euro saving on the original cost.

It's worth noting that as the announcement didn't come from Microsoft itself, we're still waiting for its official take. We're also told that that may include an update on the UK price, but, again, we're swimming the choppy seas of TBA.

Expect some sort of update in the next few days.
