GC: "Best of" short list

The eleven-member jury for the Best of GC awards have announced the finalists in all ten categories for this year's ceremony, GamesIndustry.biz reports.

Due to take place August 24, the awards cover all major formats, mobile and online gaming and hardware peripherals.

Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 are going head-to-head with Sony's SingStar, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and The Eye of Judgement in the PS3 category, while Wii Fit, Super Mario Galaxy and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games will face-off in the coveted Wii category.

Take Two's BioShock, Eidos' Kane & Lynch Dead Men and Namco Bandai's Eternal Sonata are up for the Xbox 360 award, and the best hardware category is a showdown between EA's Rock Band, the Wii Balance Board and the PlayStation Eye for PS3.
