Frozen Synapse 2 is on the way

Due in 2016.

Mode 7 Games has announced Frozen Synapse 2, the sequel to the brilliant double-blind tactics game in which everybody plans their moves in secret and then they all play out at once.

The headline feature is "open world tactics", apparently, which sounds exciting, particularly since the original game worked its magic by scrunching everyone together in small maps. I trust Mode 7 to make this sing, however. The original Frozen Synapse is a nervy delight, and I loved the robo-football follow-up Frozen Cortex.

Already looks amazing.

Frozen Synapse 2 will be out in 2016, apparently, on PC, Mac and Linux.
