World of Darkness is "dark and sexy"

Vampire MMO is playable, says EVE dev.

CCP's vampire MMO World of Darkness is playable, the developer has told Eurogamer.

"It's dark and sexy," said EVE Online creative director Torfi Frans Olafsson.

"That game is in development but I don't have any comments on the status or the progress - except that I've played it."

His comments coincide with leaked footage of World of Darkness from The Grand Masquerade convention this past weekend. The video showed an artist's broody impression of a vampire-ridden cityscape with a sultry voice over from a female bloodsucker.

CCP told Eurogamer three years ago that the World of Darkness MMO would take "four to five years to make". White Wolf, the creator of the World of Darkness lore, merged with CCP in 2006. The most well-known adaptation of creator Mark Rein-Hagen's work is Vampire: The Masquerade.

World of Darkness is expected to show its face at EVE Fanfest 2011, which takes place at CCP HQ in Iceland from 24th March to 26th March. The event had been scheduled to take place this year but was moved to be both more convenient and more revealing.
