Gears of War developer Epic Games is currently working on a mystery PC exclusive, according to company president Mike Capps.

As reported by Joystiq, Capps announced to a PAX panel audience this weekend that Epic "might be working on a PC-only title."

Design director Cliff Bleszinski then chimed in with the rather more definitive: "Let me say that again: we are working on a PC game."

After the panel Capps confirmed that work is currently underway on the project and explained that the studio currently has no intention of bringing the title to consoles.

Could that be a hint that Epic is dipping its toes into free-to-play for the first time? Or perhaps it's finally returning to Unreal Tournament? Ladies and gents, your best guesses if you please.

Epic has a couple of other confirmed games currently in the works, recently announced zombie survival thing Fortnite and iOS franchise spin-off Infinity Blade: Dungeons.
